Sterling Custom Homes Supports Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas

Austin home builder, Sterling Custom Homes, recently presented a $2,500 check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and South Texas in support of an employees’ fund raising goal. The $2,500 gift is a matching donation by one of the company’s employees, Gary Grambley, Sales and Marketing Director at Sterling, for his support of the nonprofit organization that grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

“Supporting our employees is about more than giving them time off and good health benefits; it’s about supporting them on all levels and in all aspects of their lives,” says Duke McDowell, President of Sterling Custom Homes. “I strongly believe that supporting our employees in their efforts to help the local community through charitable acts and giving improves employee morale and satisfaction. But more importantly, I just feel that it is the right thing to do.”

Grambley is combining his fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® with training for the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon, which will be held November 13. “Several months ago I met with Mr. McDowell about my goal of raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in conjunction with my training for the San Antonio Marathon this fall,” explains Grambley. “I went into the meeting with the intention of soliciting a $1,000 donation. When I told Mr. McDowell about my plans and that a $1,000 donation would help me kick off the program, he offered, without hesitation, to match the first $2,500 I raised for the charity. I was blown away by his generosity!”

With his company’s backing, Grambley contacted friends and associates for donations. He created a fundraising website and quickly after spreading the word about his efforts, his friends and clients were eager to help. “The incentive of the matching contribution was a great motivator. My friends and past clients jumped on the opportunity. I now keep them informed through a weekly update which talks about our fundraising status and gives them some insight into my marathon training. It has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life and it’s largely due to the generosity and support I get from Sterling Custom Homes.”

To date, Grambley has raised $5,740 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central & South Texas through these efforts.

Liberty Trails Recycling Drive Drawing to a Close

What have you been doing with your aluminum cans all summer long? Well, if you’re a resident of Gerstad Builder’s Liberty Trails, a community of McHenry County real estate, you’ve been collecting cans to raise money for a local food pantry. However, residents of Liberty Trails have only a few more days to collect cans for the neighborhood’s recycling drive that ends Aug. 26.

“We’d like to remind all of our residents at Liberty Trails to continue collecting cans,” said Roger Gerstad, president of Gerstad Builders. “This is the last leg of the drive and we want to make sure that we have done all that we can to support the McHenry County community.”

After finishing every tasty ice cold beverage this summer, residents chose to skip the trash can for the recycling bin and the cans were collected and stored at the community. After Aug. 26, Liberty Trails will sell the cans for cash and the proceeds generated will be donated to a local food pantry.

Feel inspired by Gerstad Builder’s fundraiser? You can plan a recycling event for your community. Or, be a part of Liberty Trails by calling the builder for a tour.

Nestled in a quiet community with rolling landscapes, Liberty Trails is composed of ranch and two-story homes that are perfect for any buyer. Floor plans are spacious and boast two to four bedrooms, as many as three bathrooms and up to 3,200 square feet.

Buyers will love these homes with standard features that include GE appliances, Kohler fixtures and Colonist doors and trim. You get all this and more with prices starting at just $190,990.

The McHenry County builder also constructs new homes in Poplar Grove and Richmond as well as Williams Bay new homes in Wisconsin.
